TBird 128.2.0 plays a mail notification sound even when OFF in settings
My Thunderbird just updated itself to 128.2.0esr, and now every time new mail arrives it plays a sound even though "Play a sound" is not checked in settings. I tried enabling the setting and then disabling it again, but to no avail.
Help!

Do you have 'Use the system notification' enabled in Settings?

Do you have 'Use the system notification' enabled in Settings?
Indeed I do, just as I always have (as far as I know). Together with "Play a sound" unchecked.
So, I unchecked "Use system notification', and that appears to have been the required magic.
