The latest version installed and is issuing many virus warning messages whenever I start Firefox. It keeps telling me to activate my virus software but it is already running and I have done scans to try to verify my system but all seems well. I have also booted my system from a virus recovery CD (created on a separate system) and scanned my hard disks, again all was clean. I have attached a screenshot of two of the messages for you to see. I have installed Chrome to try and see what is happening but, although it does not issue and messages, it seems to have problems too? Microsoft Edge seems to work OK but I hate it. Please help?

Kind regards, Chris Griffin

If you're experiencing a large number of virus warnings after updating to the latest version of Firefox, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to address the problem:

Update Security Software: Ensure that your antivirus and security software are up to date. Sometimes, outdated security software can lead to false positive virus warnings.

Browser Extensions: Some browser extensions or add-ons could trigger false positive virus warnings. Disable your extensions one by one and see if the issue persists. If the problem goes away after disabling a specific extension, it might be the cause.

Clear Cache and Cookies: Clear your browser's cache and cookies, as cached files can sometimes cause unexpected behavior. To do this, go to Firefox settings > Privacy & Security > Clear Data.

Check Antivirus Settings: Review your antivirus software's settings. Some aggressive settings might trigger false positive warnings on legitimate websites.
