Hello there Kim steiour
We have read your message. We try to help you.
Try this :
Right click on mail account name in Folder Pane and select 'Settings' If pop select 'Disc Space' If Imap select 'Synchronisation & storage' select 'Don't delete any messages' click on 'OK' Right click on Inbox folder and select 'Properties' click on 'Retention Policy' tab make sure it says 'Use my account settings' click on 'General Information' tab Check to see if folder index is out of synch with actual storage, click on 'Repair folder' button click on 'OK'

This sounds like the description of a problem from a few days ago. That person had Thunderbird syncing with his email via IMAP, but he had a different device (an ipad if I recall) that was fetching email from the same account via POP. POP email clients typically download and delete the message from the server, so, since they were deleted from the server, they disappeared from the IMAP client(s) as well.
Any chance you have that going on?
