It's easier and cleaner to restore the whole profile, rather than this piecemeal approach you're using. I don't think there are any approved procedures for specifically importing the address book and calendar. The add-on you mentioned deals only with email messages. It probably won't help you here. It does have a backup function, but I don't know how comprehensive that is. The two main address books are stored in files abook.mab and history.mab. You could copy-and-paste these from whatever backup you have.
