I've recently completed a fresh install of OSX (not an update to the software) to my mac and reinstalled everything from scratch including Thunderbird. I've placed all my email accounts in exactly as before, including the exact add ons I had working perfectly for years ( Ex Quilla, Quick Folder, UK Dictionary, Account Colors).

In this new install I cannot open Thunderbird with any Add ons on without the Safe Mode screen coming on. This is an issue as my work email is, of course, on the ExQuilla which is an add on. Besides it's an absolute nightmare.

I cannot believe I'm about to consider this, but I see no alternative but to consider, after many years, returning to Apple Mail as the frustration is becoming too much. Please can someone help...

Although the info seems to only discuss Windows OS, you could check the same shortcuts etc making sure they are pointing to the correct location and not forcing a safe mode by default.
