Why does spelling check needs half the accentuated chars to resolve words since last version

Good morning,

I'm using the french dictionary to write some email in french (i'm french). Since last version (the one of today still has the issue) it seems to me that the spellchecker's word lookup algorithm is not behaving properly.

Before : if I type "evenement" -> checker shows "évènement" which is right Now : if I type "evenement" again -> unknown word. However if i type "évenement" -> checker proposes "évènement" thus i need to write almost every accent properly for it to get the right word.

I think that there is a issue with the algorithm that is supposed to replace all accentuated chars for word lookup

When using version 5.0.2 of the French dictionary there is the choice of French (classic) French (modern) French (classic-reform) French (reform)

French (reform) corrects evenement to évènement.

With version 5.6.2 I see French (classic) French (FR-classic).

Neither corrects evenement to évènement any more.

So this is due to a change in the dictionary, not the algorithm.

Please complain to http://www.dicollecte.org/, the providers of the dictionary.
