my fonts and screen are too large
hi
i have a brand new ff profile with all text the default size which is just right , in my other profile [main one which i want to continue using] i need to shrink the text.
ive matched all the font size in both profiles [under options ,content, also in advanced settings] and it remains to big in the main profile
i refer mainly to the permanent bars at the top of FF but also often the web page text
also, the whole page/screen appears stretched sideways and to view all of it i must scroll sideways
restarting FF in safe mode is no better
i don't want to use add ons to get the correct size text as its ok on the other profile using no add ons
thanks if anyone can get interested in this annoying problem

You can check that you do not run Firefox in compatibility mode or with reduced screen dimensions. You can open the Properties of the Firefox desktop shortcut via the right-click context menu and check the "Compatibility" tab. Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
Try to set layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1.0 (default is -1) on the about:config page. If necessary adjust its value in 0.1 or 0.05 steps (1.1 or 0.9) until icons or text looks right.
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
You can look at the Default FullZoom Level or NoSquint extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.
- Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
- NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/
Check Menu>View>Zoom>Reset
yes this fixed itcor-el said

- Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB
Did you try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
Does it help if you zoom out the web pages?

If you have made changes to Advanced font size settings like increasing the minimum/default font size then try the Default font size setting "16" and the Minimum font size setting "none" in case the current setting is causing problems.
- Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.
- Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but to use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with text not being displayed properly.
