Im trying to set up my email address with Thunderbird but whenever I try to get my email, I receive the message ' Could not connect to mail server; the connection was refused'

Im trying to set up my email address with Thunderbird but whenever I try to get my email, I receive the message ' Could not connect to mail server; the connection was refused'

1. Check your internet connection using your browser.
2. Check that the connection settings (e.g. username, password, etc) to your mail server are what they should be. By the way, are you using private hosting or something like Hotmail or Gmail for your email ?
