This just started on one of my accounts, the other account works fine. when I go online I can sign on to my account just fine. The only change that has happened is I get this email on my android phone also. I had an update on my phone that screwed up my email on my phone. I deleted the account on my phone and then set it up again and it worked fine. Thats when thunderbird started giving me this message on this account. I tried turning the phone off but it made no difference.

Check with your email provider. You may try to reduce the interval how often the phone is checking for new mail.
