not able to add hotmailaccount

when I try to add a hotmail account, everything goes well untill I get the message "configuration can't be verified - wrong username or password ?" But I am sure I used the correct username and password !

Hopefully you can help me to install my hotmail accounts to Thunderbird

disable email scanning in your anti virus program and make sure it is set to allow full access to the internet to Thunderbird

Okay, will do.....but I had no problems adding other e-mail accounts ? Gmail for example gave no problems what so ever ?

But I will check my anti virus

Another thought... do you get have two factor authentication enabled at hotmail? You get a SMS with the key when you log in?

No, I don't get a textmessage when I log in to my hotmail account
