I noticed that just about every time i start my computer and open Nightly I get a download popup to download the OpenH264 codec by Cisco. I did and I noticed that there was an entry for it in the Plugins section of the Add-Ons Manager and it states 'Will be installed shortly'. What it had me download was a zip file that contained two files. One that gave a short explaination of the codec and a libgmpopenh264.so file. Now I have no clue what to do with the .so file to get it installed into Nightly.

Is anyone else having this issue and what can I do about it? I am running Xubuntu 14.04 64-bit.

I see media.gmp-gmpopenh264.* prefs on the about:config page. media.gmp-gmpopenh264.path shows the installation path that points to the gmp-gmpopenh264 folder in the Firefox profile folder.

Bug 1009909 - Firefox desktop: Integrate the openh264 media plugin in the add-ons manager Bug 1032814 - Gecko media plugins should not use well-known locations for plugins

There are also media.gmp-manager.* prefs. https://wiki.mozilla.org/GeckoMediaPlugins Bug 957928 - Gecko Media Plugins (GMP) support

Hi download [http://ciscobinary.openh264.org/open..../open...-Firefox33.zip] and extract this. now you see these files gmpopenh264.dll & gmpopenh264.info go to : C:\Users\???\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\???.default and create these folders : \gmp-gmpopenh264\1.1 and then copy those two files in here!

plugin will be installed correctly!
