Is there a way to delete messages from unified accounts? I find I have to go to each of my 4 accounts separately and then to trash to delete messages.

Tap and hold to select multiple messages (or swipe to select) in the Unified Inbox. Once you’ve selected the messages, tap the trash bin icon to delete them.
