I want my tiles back!

New Tab page shows up with a search bar and a gear in the right hand corner -- when I click on the gear a dropdown menu appears, but none of the options are highlighted with a check nor are they clickable!

Please help!

Are there any error message in the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) about issues with the about:newtab page?

Try to clear the Cache.

  • Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
