I have had a frustrating two days with no success. From the "File" menu, "Open File" and "Save Page As" no longer work (you only get an hourglass that disappears after moving the mouse). Also when right clicking on a page, "Save Link As" and "Save Image As" also do not work. I believe this behavior happened after installing a Citrix Client Plugin from the Bloomberg website but I cant be sure.

I have tried ALL of the troubleshooting steps to no avail. Add-ons disabled, Plugins disabled, Reinstall saving settings and bookmarks, Reinstall not saving old settings -- nothing works.

I noticed that even after a supposed "clean, fresh, reinstall, ALL of my old plug-ins and two of my old add-ons are still there. How do I get rid of ALL the old plugins and add-ons and truly start with a COMPLETELY fresh install? I'm assuming this would be the only way I can get Firefox to work properly again. Thank you in advance for your help.

Deleting the old profile did not work. However, using the mozillaZine Standard diagnostic as a guide, I renamed firefox.exe to firefox1.exe, did NOT select it as the default browser, and the problems went away. This means my computer has malware that as of yesterday was not caught by either Malwarebytes Anti-Malware nor Avast Anti-virus. I can at least run firefox1.exe until I rid my computer of this malware and then switch it back to firefox.exe. Thank you very much for your help.
