neither send link nor mailto function even though I have the correct setting in the preferences using macmail
Since I've upgraded to Firefox 5 I have been unable to get send link or email to to work. I can click on a active url in the browser window and nothing happens. I have checked with the preferences application setup and I have the correct preference identified - that is MacMail. And just to make sure I switched the preference chopice to other mail clients - and they don't work in Firefox 5 eoither. Additionally, when I switch to another browser, Safari or Opera, everything functions as expected there, and I can send an email through a highlighted link in any of their windows. What's going on?

You can look at the network.protocol-handler.external.mailto prefs on the about:config page.
If network.protocol-handler.external.mailto prefs are user set (bold) then right-click and Reset them to the default value.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
- Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
- Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
- Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.
