My Bookmarks have Disappeared!!! Firefox 78.0.2 (64-bit), Windows 10 Home

more options

I'm running Firefox 78.0.2 (64-bit) on a laptop with Windows 10 Home. After I did a Disk Cleanup (something I've been doing), I opened Firefox (computer was sleep after the cleanup) and I don't have any of my bookmarks except the two mobile ones. There is nothing anywhere! No old Firefox data file on the desktop - nothing. I can't create any bookmarks either. My passwords and logins are still around. When I try to restore the bookmarks it get the "Unable to Process the Backup File" on every one of the backup files.

I've read through similar questions, but they aren't for Firefox 78.0.2. I can't understand them, and going from page to page via links doesn't help.

Need help, and please be specific.

We recommend not using other programs to clean Firefox as it can clean itself.
Also, cleaners can remove or corrupt the browser's files.

Restore Bookmark Backups

Firefox automatically makes backups of the bookmarks. These are stored in the bookmarkbackups folder.

Open the Bookmarks Manager; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the toolbar, and select Bookmarks.
Hot key is <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.

Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Restore. From the list, pick the file you want and click it.

The backups are stored in a jsonlz4 file named something like this;
bookmarks-2016-06-29_1424_enD1GTH ya0JmicnYWg4V4g==.jsonlz4

In this example; 2016-06-29 = date created, 1424 = number of entries.

Something was wrong with the current one, as you explained could happen when using other cleaners. I had to create a new bookmarks file.
