Thunderbird has been giving me the completely useless "Inbox" screen which doesn't show any messages. Why does this idiot thing exist? Then I finally get my message listing but it consists of a few messages from the past few hours today and old messages from May 2018 and before. What can I do to recover my nine months of lost messages?

Open your e-mail provider with a web browser. Are the messages still there?

Note: Some providers may remove old messages.
