I have been looking for a calendar on Thunderbird. My Thunderbird does not have a tab called "calendar" or "file" at teh top. I tried creating a new calendar, whihc seemd easy, but when I'd clicked "OK" I still could not see any sign of a calendar. The "Help" articles about calendars all seem to imply I should be able to see something, but I can't. Also, I can't se which version of Thundrebird I've got (it ws installed last summer)

Some Windows basics. File-Edit-View etc. are on the Menu Bar. All windows have one. The current trend is to hide the Menu Bar. Pressing the alt key or F10 has revealed a hidden Menu Bar since the beginning of Windows. The version of all software is listed under Help-About. Once you get your Menu Bar displayed click Help.

If you want the Menu Bar to display all the time go to View-Toolbars and turn it on.

The calendar in Thunderbird is called Lightning. It is an add on. Go to the add on tab in Thunderbird, click the Extensions button, and see if it is listed and enabled. If disabled, enable it. If not listed type Lightning in the search box and install it.

Problem solved. Thank you very much (can't beleive that I've been using Windows 10 for so long and didn't know how to display the menu bar!)

Anyway, Many thanks Doug Ross
