My Open last Close Tab app stopped working. So I uploaded the new one. That doesn't work either.
A couple of days ago I tried using my Restore Last Closed Tab app. The icon was colourless and nothing happened. I restarted Firefox. No change. I rebooted. No change.
I left it a day or two and tried again. it's still not working. I searched for it and found that a new Restore Last Closed Tab app was being offered. I went to Plug Ins and checked my app. There was nothing to say it had been discontinued, indeed, it said, updated December 2018. But it doesn't work. So I deleted it, and loaded the new one.
That doesn't work either.
It sounds like a small thing, but this is as technical as I get.
Please tell me what is wrong and why the App does not work. I don't want to have to "go via history", I know I can, but I would like the app to work.
Thank you for any help.

Let's see - this one :
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/undoclosetabbutton/
Support Site :
https://github.com/M-Reimer/undoclosetab/issues
It took a bit of effort getting to this page though - clicking on
the 'Support Site' button makes Firefox prevent to redirect
to that page .....
As for this add-on :
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/undo-closed-tabs-revived/
Click on 'Support Site' (you'll find it under 'More information') and see what happens .....
If I were you I'd forget about these dodgy add-ons and just use
Ctrl + Shift + T ...... (it's easy and doesn't use RAM)

Hello GreenGreat,
Weird, but I can't find the "Restore Last Closed Tab" you mention on the addons.mozilla.org page ..... (?)
I found these though :
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/undoclosetabbutton/
and :
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/undo-closed-tabs-revived/
This will probably be a dumb question, but why don't you just use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + T ?
Hi McCoy. Thank you for your input.
You are right, I have the title wrong, they are both called "Undo Closed Tabs" (the second one Revived.)
I wonder why there are two, and only one now seems to come up on the apps list for Firefox
I didn't use ctrl-shift-T because i did not know it existed, and searches in the past for restore or undo tabs have not mentioned it at least not where I could see it! I find it does do more than one tabs, so that seems very useful. Thank you.
So ... if ctrl-shift-T undoes closed tabs, whey are there two apps which do the same thing? I wonder ...
And I am still wondering why, having had first the one and then the other, neither of them work ??
Thanks for your help.
PS I would like to add that the reason given for the new one not working is, "Nothing to Restore!" (That is probably where I got the "restore" idea from.) So somewhere the information from the closed tab/s is not getting to the Undo Closed Tab app. <puzzled.>

Now that I know that the two extensions I found are the ones you are talking about - may I advice you to contact the developer(s) ?
But (personal opinion) : using Ctrl + Shift + T would be much easier ......
When I went to find a reason for developers to create an extension to do this, it says :
" You can undo closing a tab with Ctrl + Shift + T or from the tab context menu. And the menu is already exists under History > Recently Closed Tabs. This extension just makes it faster to get at. "
I beg to differ ......
I would love to contact the developers, but do you know how to do this? There doesn't appear to be any way of contacting either of them on the App pages. How do I contact App developers?

Thanks for your efforts McCoy - as a typist, I am happy to use keyboard routes. There is an underlying issue here though - other problems with Firefox, over the last 18 months, all the "solutions" have been too technical for someone like me to implement. I know Firefox is a free program, and i have always liked it since I started using it, but it is getting harder and harder to find things out! As you see from the effort you had getting to the "support site" page above. I shall keep that information in the hope that any future problems may be a bit easier to deal with. Meanwhile I have left comments on the Developer sites, perhaps they may see them there. Thank you!

Maybe you'd like to start another thread in which you explain what other problems you encounter - who knows : someone just might come up with the perfect solution(s) for you .......
I don't have another problem at the moment.
I will leave this here till this evening but I don't think anyone has anything to add.
