this error is often caused by a windows system restore which leaves files from a mix of versions behind in the firefox installation directory. please try to just download and reinstall firefox from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

What kind of problems do you have with Firefox that you want to remove Firefox?
I get the message about XPCOM when I try to open firefox. I uninstalled one version but the second version won't uninstall. I want to remove the non'working version, and then might download a replacement, as I don't want to rely on Chrome and Internet Explorer.

It seems to have worked
