First question: How can I get channels I hate to stop appearing as my choices on youtube?

My computer is a mess, I've lost control. I can't find anything I want. I'd like to start by improving my youtube selection by having a means to banish channels that I hate from appearing as choices when I'm on youtube. Once I fix that problem, then I will move on to the many others. I am so frustrated with my computer and I wish everybody wasn't always changing things. I spend too much time looking, not finding, and if I could block the channels I hate that would help to get control of my computer again.

I'm updating this reply. This whole thread is probably getting confusing, and I'm sorry for the reader who might be trying to follow this.

Happy's add-on did not work, and caused me some problems and I had to delete it. It doesn't jive with the new Firefox. HOWEVER, looks like Firefox people did something themselves to fix this and get all Firefoxers now a way to communicate with YouTube regarding our choices. Isn't that great news!

I see now somebody (???) did something to YouTube, (or maybe I just missed it before.)

I see now that the Firefox icon of the 3 dots ... pops up beside ANY VIDEO choice on YouTube I hover over. If I click on the 3 dots, I can choose from all kinds of options: ie, to make a playlist or get the video deleted altogether from choices presented, or leave it there but order that it not be played. I can get it out of there, or even complain about it. I don't know if that was there before, but it's there now. It's PERFECT.

Maybe somebody at Firefox created this, but it's a great feature, and if that's the case I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to whoever did that wonderful thing. I don't know if this is the best place to put this amazing and wonderful solution, but it's the best place I know to notify anyone with a problem similar to the one I presented.

I'm glad that the "Firefoxers" (ie people like me who use and love Firefox) might be able to have input like this that people actually do listen to and include our suggestions into the browser! I think it was maybe the Firefox programmers that orchestrated that feature that's there now on YouTube? ________________________________________

FYI, what do people like me want with a browser? That's a good thing to know if you want to have a browser service.

FYI, I want privacy, I want to own my own computer and be able to use Google without Google trying to run my life so I want Firefox to keep Google at bay on a nice thick chain. And I want to be able to easily forward links to my contacts with just one click, and I'm glad that Firefox has made that easy for me to do (thank you, Firefox).

I'm a big YouTube user, so I'd like a way to be able to access the good stuff quicker and easier than I am now. Doing a search on Google doesn't always get me much--the stuff is very dated usually that Google has to offer, but it's a start. YouTube doesn't group videos necessarily the way I would do it, and I need a way to let YouTube know that they are offering me stuff I am not interested in so they will give me something else. It's feedback to YouTube that will help me get to the good stuff, so therefore it's a really good feature that I much appreciate Happy giving me an app offered by Firefox.

Isn't it true that a browser is there to help us get the most out of the Internet? How can someone say "it's not my problem?" That I don't understand.

Your YouTube problem is with the website. Not a Firefox issue. Go to YouTube and open its settings.

I have another question related to the first one. How do I get one of these 'YouTube pages' that shows the YouTubes I'm favoring? That seems to be the launching pad for controlling my viewing and seems like a wonderful feature. Does my browser have an easy click access to something like that, an icon or something offered by Firefox to get me into that? It would be a great service to give us an icon or a link, even to add on to the cog wheel options. There is the issue of privacy tho to consider here as we all know.

You will probably already know this, but just in case :

When you're watching/listening to a video that you really like you can click on the 'thumbs up' icon under the video, and it will be added to the list of your favourite videos.

And of course you can also subscribe to channels you like (there are these red 'subscribe' buttons).

But this is not what you are talking about, I'm afraid - maybe some add-on could be developed to do this.

You know what  ? Why don't you submit your suggestion here :

Worth a try .......

This is probably not what you want at all, but I found this add-on :

To Happy112, I think somebody might have noticed my postings here, one of the Firefox programmers, because now YouTube has the 3 dots icon Firefox is giving us -- right there when we hover over any of the YouTube selections. When I click on the 3-dot icon I get all kinds of great choices. Puts me in the drivers seat, and I love it!

So I don't know who is the ultimate solution winner here, because there are a few people who made suggestions that seem to all have contributed to what Firefox did themselves to service the users like me.

Thank you, Firefox! Thank you to all the volunteers who answer the distress calls of people like me and try to help. I think it was worth it very, very much in this case. God bless all of you who answered my call for help!

Happy, I know it's you who rang some bells with the honchos to get this done. Don't deny it!

I would be a great big liar if I did not deny it, honest  !
