With the latest update [57.0.1 (64-bit)], fixefox no longer asks for the master password. Help please
I even tried changing the password. The browser just opens without asking for a password.

You could Log-off your Password protected Windows Logon User Account. Although I am not familiar with how to do it, there is a method in Windows7 were you can log-off your LUA quickly before leaving your computer unattended. Overall, protection at the User level of the Operating System is best; as anyone who sits down at your computer can rifle thru all your personal documents and files quite easily without opening any applications, including Firefox.
But as far as Firefox alone is concerned, the Master Password doesn't protect against someone else using Firefox, it just protects against someone being able to view your Passwords in Firefox or logging into a Password protected website in your absence - assuming that you haven't already logged in before you walked away from your computer.
IMO, Mozilla goes by the first line of defense being at the Operating System level.

Firefox no longer asks for the master password because there aren't password saved, my password are all delete... verify
Unless your set Home Page requires login Firefox won't ask for the Master Password upon launch. The MP wouldn't be requested until the first page you open that requires a login is completely loaded; or you want to view your Logins in Options / Preferences.

Thanks for the clarification. I was using the master password lock to keep anyone else from using firefox because i'm logged into all my accounts on it. Would there perhaps be another way i can password protect the application?
