I always occasionally using Firefox and i just did today. After i close Firefox, then open again, Firefox is updating and after that, sees the Firefox icon in taskbar but no window. The Firefox did told me that it is updated to version 57.

Did a PC restart but still no window. I cannot access safe-mode or reset Firefox if i can't access the browser itself first, correct me if I'm wrong.

Right now, I'm downloading a new Firefox Setup 57.0 to try uninstall and reinstall but in meantime, I'm showing this for this problem as this never happens to me before for 8 years using Firefox. (or since 2006?)

Add-ons, I don't remember much the list of it but I only uses 2 add-ons (from add-on store and my Avast! add-on) that currently active

The picture attached is 3 screenshots i combined together in stacks to see the preview of my problem. (I hid my desktop icons for privacy)

I think i just fixed my problem for real. First of all, i had to say sorry for misinformation because i remembered i did some modifications (or did i use addon?) that makes the firefox follows my Windows 10 colour scheme and after i refreshed my Firefox 56, i was about to do the same but researched that Firefox 57.0 doesnt support this particular add-on. (Classis Theme Restorer)

With only refreshed Firefox 56, i updated the Firefox with Check update then Firefox 57.0 launches just fine, well, if i use other theme than default.

Seems like if i use Default theme, my titlebar/tabs are just blacks, until i clicked other window. If i use Dark or Light theme provided, the titlebar/tabs are now visible. (though i kinda annoyed that the Firefox dont follow my Windows 10 colour scheme anymore as i set my Windows theme to change colours everytime with different background. Well, just a cosmetic)

I guess this is just a minor thing then. But weird that Firefox 57 didnt disable the Classic Theme Restorer add-on (or maybe not..? maybe i use another method before? cant remember) Thanks for the help anyways, @Pkshadow

Image below is the titlebar/tabs just black (except selected tab) when in window.

[update] Uninstall and reinstall DO NOT work, I'm still having the same problem.

This is now getting frustrating as most of my secure website data is in the browser.

I will try roll back to the previous version if this helps, [edit] I'm downloading version 56.0b9 from this link https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/56.0b9/win64/en-GB/

[update] Reverting back to previous version seems to fix my problem but this would be a temporary solution and I won't update my Firefox till this get fixed.

This the best way to uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved.

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ New Installer also acts as a Up Dater and also may ask if you want to Refresh. This is from finding left overs or just your saved Profile.

Really does not matter as long as get rid of the corrupted files.

You could so do this, does not take long. Repair System Registry and Files

(FOR DOING Above & Below - WINDOWS All OTHER VERSIONS - Use Search To Find Command Prompt ** Enter CMD.exe to Find COMMAND PROMPT Then Right Click & RUN AS ADMIN)

To run the SFC command use the Windows key + X keyboard shortcut to open the Power User menu and select Command Prompt (Admin). Type "SFC /SCANNOW" (without quotes or copy/paste) and press Enter. For more information on using SFC, please refer to the Microsoft KB: Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

Run the Windows Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) and System File Checker (SFC) tools as Administrator. The DISM and SFC tools scan the integrity of the Windows image and all protected system files replaces corrupted, damaged and incorrect versions. (FOR DOING Above & Below - WINDOWS All OTHER VERSIONS - Use Search To Find Command Prompt ** Enter CMD.exe to Find COMMAND PROMPT Then Right Click & RUN AS ADMIN) Type "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" (without quotes or copy/paste) and press Enter.

Windows 10 To run the DISM command use the Windows key + X keyboard shortcut to open the Power User menu, then select Command Prompt (Admin). Type "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" (without quotes or copy/paste) and press Enter. While running DISM you may notice the process will appear to pause at 20%. After a few minutes the operation will continue.

Note : SFC fixes files locally using files found on your system. Note : DISM goes up to Microsoft for new ones.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Tried uninstalled, anything related to Mozilla Firefox (in Program Files, also in x86) was instantly gone. did disk cleanup, restart, reinstall Firefox 57.0, still persist. I do remember before (not Firefox but Chrome) did some graphic corruptions and even with driver update doesn't fixed it, even reinstall didn't. But that was my OS kinda corrupted due to power failure multiple times (with SSD) and my final result was reinstall OS and works.

I uninstall the Firefox and did the SFC check afterwards.

SFC did found some corruptions and fixed it. Reinstall the Firefox 57.0, the problem is still persist.

I noticed in the homepage, Firefox did rework to GUI. I believe somehow my system kinda conflict with the new GUI coding or something because nothing is shown in the window.

For now, i will use Firefox 56.0b9 , last version before 57.0. If I can somehow give bug log or similar I would but, most of Firefox settings are in the browser itself and I can't see anything or access with empty window.

(Will erasing my user data works? But that would mean all my data will be gone. Kinda risky but if i can back it up I will try)
