Firefox stutters on certain sites even after refreshing, reinstalling, safemode. How to fix?

Hi folks.

I've asked this question before, but got no response.

I'm running Windows 7 64, with the latest update of FF64.

On various sites, more commonly with sites with 'more going on' programming-wise, such as facebook, yahoo fantasy football especially, firefox will get noticeably slower. not horribly slow like it can't be used. just slower, like you know something is holding it up that shoudln't be happening.

I've tried running with addons like uBlock and Ghostery, and it happens. I've tried it without addons, and it happens... albiet a little less. I've tried using it in safe mode and with a brand new profile. Still does it. I've tried updating windows 7 with all updates. still does it.

I've also seen it happen in other browsers on my computer, like Opera. which suggests an issue with my computer. But what could that issue be?

My last resort is re-installing windows 7 64... but I just don't see how that's going to make a difference.

What am I not trying? What am I not seeing? Thanks in advance.

I would be guessing it stutters video driverDate: 11-6-2012 I can see your Video Card Drivers have never been updated. I would think the maker/brand does not even have a page of drivers for it anymore. You do need to check though as I would say this is the issue and last chance if there are drivers there. Please note that your notebook original equipment manufacturer (OEM) provides certified drivers for your specific notebook on their website. NVIDIA recommends that you check with your notebook OEM about recommended software updates for your notebook. SO not much we can do to help your out other than suggest you think about moving to the 52.4.1 Extended Release Version https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/ I would think most you have is a year with those drivers before websites over whelm the video card. Hi! Actually this makes total sense. The laptop I have (a Dell m4700 precision) usually only releases specific drivers, including specific video drivers, for the m4700. I will check to see if they have an update, and will update.

Also a question for you... what was it about that 52.4.1 Extended Release Version that made having an updated video card important? because around that update is when i started having issues. before that I barely updated drivers at all.

I can see your Video Card Drivers have never been updated. I would think the maker/brand does not even have a page of drivers for it anymore. You do need to check though as I would say this is the issue and last chance if there are drivers there.

Please note that your notebook original equipment manufacturer (OEM) provides certified drivers for your specific notebook on their website. NVIDIA recommends that you check with your notebook OEM about recommended software updates for your notebook.

Updated to the latest nvidia driver as provided by dell for the m4700.. and everything works perfectly. I had been confused because firefox would work perfectly based on absolutely no updates to windows 7 or the drivers... but since around ff52 or so, there had been tiny problems with FF... don't know why i didn't think to do this sooner. But thank you, can't tell you how frustrated i was with this.
