My computer was attacked by ransomware yesterday while using Firefox- Norton blocked it, but I am afraid to use Firefox again. Can you please fix your browser?
Yesterday while using Firefox which is my preferred browser the screen turned orange and a voice came on telling me to call the number below to get back control of my computer. Fortunately, my Norton antivirus blocked it and I was able to exit, but I am terrified to use Firefox again. Are the administrators doing anything to stop this ransomware from attacking computers while using the Firefox browser?

Hi, please check that you are blocking pop-ups, and I suggest if you don't have an ad-blocker, that you install https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!
To check that your system is clean, Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
I'm having the same issue with Firefox...and all I can do is uninstall it...go back to IE or Chrome. I have run Bitdefender and Malwarebyts and still this issue persists.

Before doing anything, you should make sure your system is clean. See my last post. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1178940#answer-1014981
