Font display problems allowing pages to choose fonts...or not

This seems to have started in v56.0 for Mac but if "allow pages to choose fonts" is selected (has been default), several pages display "????" instead of fonts...if this is then unchecked in prefs, those fonts will appear correctly, but others (certain things like symbols...) do not...need to keep going back & forth into prefs to see all pages legibly...

We have seen cases where a box with all '?' or all 'A' is displayed that might be related to using a Last Resort font that displays all the glyphs with one same character.

You can try to set this pref to 1 on the about:config page.

  • security.sandbox.content.level = 1

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
