For a few days now, Firefox has been consistently crashing about 2-3 seconds after it opens. This happens even in safe mode (if I wait a few seconds, even the window asking about safe mode crashes). A clean re-install has not fixed the problem. I have scanned my system for viruses and malware, and it appears clean. All other programs appear to work normally, and I have not made any major changed to the system (apart from regular Windows updates last weeks). Any suggestions would be appreciated, I hate having to use Chrome...

Cheers, Jochen

Was in right Post but someone did not see I was working on this.

Ok Hello, sorry to hear crashing. Some exception errors are possible when Flash is corrupted so please update your Flash : https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Direct link scans current system and browser Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

A earlier exception this year was a fault of a Windows 10 Update and Comodo and Kaspersky Software that conflicted with Firefox. So if you are using Comodo/Kaspersky please check their forum to see if others have reported it. I have a issue with Malwarebytes, Windows and Firefox but is just a error message when I close Firefox so please look into your Security Software.

Well seems like have done a lot already that I would recommend. A clean install after a registry cleaner and then yank out all remaining traces is a horrible experience but.

So will go here I guess to make sure your Windows is having no issues with it self which could cause other issues : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system

I do not know what Extensions you are using as is not reported here. If can get Firefox up long enough disable any that are left or if still from the refresh there should not be any.

The other thing is do you have programs installed that hookup to Firefox in any way ? If so possible stop that or uninstall it. Some Downloader Programs can cause this issue as well.

Please update any Video and camera software, also try disable a camera while when working on this issue same with a printer almost anything could cause this so process of elimination. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes

If you can get back to Safe Mode this is useful : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

Ok Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
