Hi Yes IM VERY FRUSTRATED about this. I just did a quick update to firefox 54 and it disabled three of my addons. Adblock ultimate, Video Download Helper, and Flash Video Downloader. I tried to roll back impossible. I had firefox 53. I tried all of the 53 stable versions and went down to 52 but the issues that 54 created didnt go away. I even uninstalled firefox, and the addons. Risking losing all data. Luckily I didnt. I dont know why a simple update would cause this issue. I checked all of my addons one by one and only these three had issues. All three disappeared from my toolbar in my update and options disappeared along with it. Only Adblock has its options that once I open it pops up blank. I am very frustrated by this. I looked up all the web and tried several fixes but nothing worked. I would like a quick reply.

Note that you can look at uBlock Origin as a possible replacement for a content blocking extension like Adblock Ultimate or Adblock Plus.

It is possible that there is a problem with files in the profile folder that store the extensions registry.

Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

See "Corrupt extension files":

If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in ""3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions" then check if there is a compatibility update available.

  • click the cogwheel button (left of the Search bar) on the about:addons page to "Check for Updates"

If this didn't help then delete add-ons.json and possibly prefs.js in case there is a problem with preferences.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

I'd like to Thank you for your quick reply and suggestions. I accidently found the solution. It appears it was Session Manager. I didnt know that having saved pages could somehow corrupt all addons. Something to keep in mind. I started saving all of my pages because even Session Manager was giving hicups. So as I did that the addons magically popped back up and everything was restored to normal. Even the settings Featured. Very important and essential addons were blocked. I wouldnt replace them for anything. Ive tried ublock origin and didnt like it much. Though its a bit simplistic for my taste. I think adblock Ultimate is the best out there. Though Ive always had and liked adblock plus. I think adblock ultimate surpassed it. Ive been using it for about 8 months and since I started using Ive noticed the difference. Its really good. Recommended. Adblock ultimate 1, Adblock plus 2. Nothing is better. I was very upset and almost lost my cool. I didnt want to update from 53 to 54 but 53 was acting a bit slow and the decision cost me. It almost ruined my pc. But I was savy and lucky. To make it clear it wasnt firefox fault. It was up at my end. I thank you again for your quick response and constantly renewing and upgrading your service. I dont think there is any question firefox is the best browser for the people.
