How do I downgrade firefox to get rid of this ridiculous username/password entry garbage they have installed?

This is downright silly. If I choose to enter a password combination on a site it is MY CHOICE. The unlocked site symbol is in the address bar so if I need to be cautious then it can be checked there. It IS NOT for firefox to decide. It seems like it would be a good time to start using another browser... Even the glitch ridden IE is better than this annoyance. So if anyone knows how to downgrade to previous please tell me otherwise.... goodbye firefox

https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Protect-your-privacy/Insecure-password-warning-in-Firefox/ta-p/27861 There is a hidden preference to turn off the warning on the login form if it really annoys you and you think it will never be of value. Here's how: security.insecure_field_warning.contextual.enabled = False security.insecure_password.ui.enabled = False

Type about:config<enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the Be Careful button. At the top of the screen is a search bar.

IE 11 is pretty good if you prefer Microsoft's browser. But if you want to turn off warnings on HTTP sites, you could do that, too. Allow me to copy/paste:

Firefox 52 has a new warning on HTTP sites to remind you that your login is not protected from interception because there is no encryption on HTTP connections, your username and password are sent out over the network as plain text. (Background: Insecure connection password warning in Firefox)

The warning panel should appear below the user name and/or password field, but depending on the site's styling, it might block the field. In that case, you can clear it by tapping the Esc key.

If you find this to be too much trouble, you can change a setting to make it work like Firefox 51:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste insec and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the security.insecure_field_warning.contextual.enabled preference to switch the value from true to false

(4) Assume this login could be easily stolen and avoid re-using it on important sites

Success?
