After the latest update, Firefox deletes my previous settings and themes. What should I do?

I try to have two certain websites on start-up when I open Firefox. Instead it opens 3 Mozilla websites, one of them being a start page, the other telling how awesome Firefox is and third was probably the one that asks me to create an account. After the latest update, I have to always re-do the settings when I have shut down my computer from previous sessions. This is seriously not funny.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

I don't have any surfing protection by another software active for Firefox.

I did, but somehow at first glance I skipped the refresh Firefox click and read something else and just tried re-installing, which didn't work. Refreshing did, thank you.
