Chosen solution

You have two choices. First method: Thunderbird auto shows the default account at the top. If you want to set another mail account as default and thus position it at the top of the list displayed you can do this here: In the left Folder Pane, right click on the mail account you want at the top and select 'Settings' Account Settings window opens and the mail account you want at the top should be selected. click on 'Account Actions' from the drop down select 'Set as default' This will put that account at the top. click on OK

Close and restart Thunderbird now that mail account will appear at the top.

Second method: The extension I mentioned also allows you to re-order accounts in the folder pane. In 'Manually sort folders' there should be a tab called 'Sort Accounts' you can move up or down to arrange them.

If viewing mode is 'Folders' > 'All'

Each mail account is listed with the default folders first, followed by fodlers you created. All created folders should appear in alphbetical order.

There is an addon extension which facilitates moving folders.

In order to install a downloaded extension, please do the following:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Add-ons.
  2. Drag your downloaded XPI file to the Add-ons Manager tab and drop it.

or

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Add-ons.
  2. Click the gear icon at the top-right corner to the left of the search box and select Install Add-on From File…
  3. Locate the XPI file you downloaded and click Open.

You may need to restart Thunderbird when prompted. For more detailed instructions and information about installing add-ons, see Installing an Add-on in Thunderbird.

Sorry I didn't make it clear enough, what I want to sort is the actual accounts list, the last account I added is last and I want to move this up. Thank for a prompt reply. Bryan
