Sorry to hear about the crashes. To allow us to view your crash information in a more readable manner, could you post your most recent several crash report IDs? The support article "Firefox crashes - asking for support" has the steps to get those IDs from the about:crashes page, or, if necessary, from disk.
Also and/or meanwhile, if this happens frequently or quickly, could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features of Firefox that might make it more prone to crashing on some systems.
If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
and OK the restart.
Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

As for the temporary solution safe mode crashes at about the same rate.
Do you have other crash reports from the last few days?
There are many many crash reports everyday. If you want a list, I may have to not have a life to process them all as the way I processed the earlier request. I will send you all I can fit into one screenshot. If you need them in another format or something, just let me know.

The report submission does not seem to be working on your system. If the submission had worked, you would actually load a detailed multi-tab report when you follow the link from about:crashes.
How soon does the crash occur after startup? Was Firefox 47.0.1 stable on your system?
Yes, if you look at the first to screenshots in my first posting. That is the first information I posted. The error submission system is not working.
The crashes are random, they do not occur immediately on startup. They occur at random times. Safe mode seems to have no effect either way on or off.
Firefox was stable in the past, but every time I downloaded something I was unable to open it. Between the upgrade and a fresh install was the only way to fix that.
Could you try the following to minimize potential issues with Flash during your troubleshooting:
(1) To avoid unnecessary pain on sites where Flash is not actually essential, try setting Flash to Click-to-Play ("Ask to Activate"). This will delay Flash from starting on a page until you approve it.
To set "Ask to Activate", open the Add-ons page using either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Look for "Shockwave Flash" and change "Always Activate" to "Ask to Activate".
With this setting, when you visit a site that wants to use Flash, you should see a notification icon in the address bar and usually (but not always) one of the following: a link in a dark gray rectangle in the page or an infobar sliding down between the toolbar area and the page.
The plugin notification icon in the address bar typically looks like a small, dark gray Lego block. (If it's red, Flash needs updating.)
The delay in activating Flash can help distinguish between problems caused on initial page load, styling, and script activation vs. loading/running Flash.
If you see a good reason to use Flash, and the site looks trustworthy, you can go ahead and click the notification icon in the address bar to allow Flash. You can trust the site for the time being or permanently.
But some pages use Flash only for tracking or playing ads, so if you don't see an immediate need for Flash, feel free to ignore the notification! It will just sit there in case you want to use it later.
(2) Some crashes on Windows Vista and higher can be caused by the protected mode feature of the Flash player plugin. That feature has security benefits, but seems to have serious compatibility issues on some systems. You can disable it using the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. On the right side, find "Shockwave Flash" and click the More link. Then uncheck the box for "Enable Adobe Flash protected mode" and try that for a day to see whether it helps.
Let’s do a full clean re-install; Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link} Save the file. Then Close Firefox.
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files
C:\Program Files (x86)
Mac: Open the "Applications" folder.

Do Not remove the profiles folder.
Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox program folders by adding .old to them. Do not rename the Mozilla Thunderbird folder.
After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.
If there is a problem, start your Computer in safe mode and try again.

It is still crashing multiple times a day. It definitely happens less in safe mode...but it is still crashing.

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it to Submit them.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.
If you can't get Firefox to open, you will have to do this the hard way. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mozillacrashreporter Open the file browser / explorer on your computer. Note: You may have to enable Show Hidden Folders / Files. Enter this in the address bar;

I thought we covered this in an earlier posting. I have clicked them and they all say the same thing.

I have clicked several of them and they all provide the same information I have included in the above screenshot.
Type about:preferences#advanced<enter> in the address bar. Select Data Choices. Turn on Enable Crash Reporter.
Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar. Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open the Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)
On the left side of the page, select Appearance. Then select Default.
Now restart Firefox.
