How do I enable location services on my browser
I actually have two questions. 1) How do I turn on location services? I believe I need to do this to use one of the websites that I use 2) Every time I open a new tab in Firefox rather than getting the Firefox home page I get a tab that says "DirecetionsAce". I try to reset my home page to Firefox but to no avail

Improve Mozilla Location Services by turning on Location Services in the Firefox for Android Settings https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/improve-mozilla-location-services-turning-location
I am using a laptop rather than a mobile device. How do I enable location services on my laptop browser? Thanks.
Hi, please see https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/geolocation/
For DirectionsAce. Look in the Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A) > Extensions. If it's there, disable/remove it.
Also worth looking in your PC's Programs and do a search for it.
You can also try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Note that not all removal programs will detect all malware, so you may need to run several or all of them.
After removal you may need to reset your home page and search, which you can do by running the add-on SearchReset.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
Incidentally, you have two version of Shockwave Flash - which can cause problems, so the oldest should be removed -
- Install Flash Player - take care to deselect the McAfee offer!
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us. Thank you!
Directions Ace sounds like Malware or PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program). https://www.fixyourbrowser.com/removal-instructions/remove-directionsace-toolbar-uninstall-instruction/

Determining users location by the IP Address really can't be controlled, but the Geo-location feature does have a "switch" to disable it; it is enabled by default.
Now, with a laptop if you're "plugged in" to the internet via a Cat5 network cable Geo-location isn't used, the IP Address would be used.
If you 're using the WiFi connection, that would use Geo-location to pinpoint your location. And thanks to Google StreetView cars traveling around the globe surreptitiously collecting WiFi signal source data, that Geo-location data can pinpoint the exact street address of the location of each WiFi router. Where the IP Address information is usually only accurate to 1/2 mile / 4 blocks, as supplied by most broadband service providers in populated areas. Not a "pinpoint as WiFi location.
