AFter I updated to windows 10, my firefox browser and menu fonts all shrank. How do I return them to normal?

You will have to remove the prefs.js file in the Firefox profile folder if you have set layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to a very small value.
- C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
"AppData" (XP: Application Data; Mac: ~/Library; Linux: ~/.mozilla) is a hidden folder.
Windows hides some file extensions by default. Among them .html and .ini and .js and .txt and you may only see a file name without file extension. You can check the file extension (type) in the properties of the file in Windows Explorer via the right-click context menu.

You can set layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1.0 (default is -1) on the about:config page. Adjust its value in 0.1 or 0.05 steps (1.1 or 0.9) until icons or text looks right. Modifying layout.css.devPixelsPerPx affects user interface and web pages (global zoom). You can use an extension to correct the appearance of web pages.
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
oh lord, I have completed messed up - on my other pc. I changed the size and it shrank and zoom doesn't let me see anything. i cannot undo or change back and my browser is entirely useless now. I dont know what to do. maybe go to chrome and download firefox again? I cannot see ANYTHING on firefox now, I can't DO anything because I can't see anything.

ok i guess its okay, now . i lost my home page tabs, but maybe not too much else. I also notice i have lost files from my pc - i never should have upgraded to 10
If you have updated to Windows 10 then you may have a "C:\Windows.old" folder with personal data from a previously installed Windows version.
The Firefox profile folder would be found here:
- C:\Windows.old\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
"AppData" (XP: Application Data; Mac: ~/Library; Linux: ~/.mozilla) is a hidden folder.
