"Sage" feed plugin wiped out everything - how to restore customizations?

Help please! My FF setup represents hours of work over many years. Sadly, I didn't save a screenshot. Won't repeat that mistake!

Loved the feed sidebar extension, now not working. Installed Sage -> disaster. Lost just about everything, including URL bar, saved sessions, etc. Removed extension, did safe restart, was able to recover most data - but not appearance.

I have backups of the profile. Is it possible to import just the part that defines menu buttons, toolbars, similar setup options? Where are they?

Thanks in advance-

It looks like what I want to recover is "Toolbar customization" data - buttons, layout, etc.

I renamed the xulstore.json in what "Help" says is the active profile to xulstore.jsonOLD, then copied in another version of the file from a recent Cobian incremental backup. Restarted Firefox, but no change in appearance.

What else should I try?

Thanks!
