Firefox Deletes History on Closing.

Hi, suddenly over the last few days I have noticed FF deletes all my history everytime I close it. ( 44.0.2 ) I have disabled all add ons / extensions I have uninstalled FF and reinstalled I have checked all settings as suggested in previous similar questions. ( Tools/Options/Privacy )

I am running out of ideas,

Any pointers appreciated, I am using Windows 10.

Amazing, I just went to "Troubleshooting Information" and Refresh Firefox, and all now seems fine. ?????? Why the hell a complete uninstall and reinstall did not fix it , but that did, is beyond me. ....Black Magic, I suppose.

Anyhow thanks for the ideas, all now sweetness and light. Ray

How about external applications?

Security applications or anti-malware applications sometimes have options for "browser cleanup"; a feature that may be enabled by default and needs to be turned off by the user.

Hi, thanks for that, I use Kaspersky Internet Security, but have turned if off for a few minutes in case that was it, but no change, I also switched off Windows Defender. I have no other security running in real time.

I even went to about:config and changed Privacy clean on shutdown history fro true to false, still no joy,??????
