How can one close list of bookmarks without closing Firefox or shutting down computer? Using Firefox for Mac, version 430.4 and OS version 10.11.1.

Once I click to open list of bookmarks, I can't find any way to close the page with the list.

You can close the window via Command+W.

Try to rename (or delete) the xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder.
