I set my Mozilla Firefox to block pop ups but still continue to get pop ups. How do I stop the pop ups on my pc?
I have a new pc running Windows 10. After loading Mozilla Firefox, I went to tools; options; content; selected to Block pop-up windows but it doesn't work. Everytime I go to a new site, multiple windows pop up all over the page. I am running McAfee Total Protection. I went to the firefox blog website, found the follow info, ran it and still no help.

I have only McAfee add ons and it will it not let me activate my Adobe Acrobat DC - Create PDF or Adobe Flash Player.

Your situation sounds like you need to further investigate your settings or scan your computer to solve your irregular pop-up problem.
In regards to running scans on your computer I have found that running ESET in combination with Malwarebytes on my Windows machines has given very good protection results. Malwarebytes has been a very solid performer for some time for detecting rootkits, and malware of all kinds. ESET has typically been one of the top AV programs at detection rates, however, what sets it apart has been that it has a very low impact on the performance and usability of your computer while being very good at detection/protection.
There are free scan tools on their respective websites you can use as well, if you are just looking for further detection help/affirmation beyond McAfee.

In addition to the pop up blocker that is included with Firefox, you may wish to install an advertising blocker from the Firefox Add-ons site. You can read more about how to do this here.

Even though I am running McAfee Total Protection on my new computer; updates are current, still got hit with an adware application that was attached within the Firefox. This adware application is called Royal Raid. Took me a while but finally found the little bugger. If you go to https://www.google.com/search?q=royal+raid&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8, there are several sites with directions on how to remove this pesky problem.

Hi, some web designers have a workaround, that allows some pop ups, usually full sized pages that either are on top or the bottom of the browser. I have managed to block almost every pop up, apart from this type. I got one earlier but I just clicked out of it. Just thought I would mention it. :)
