How to transfer firefox profile from a PC (Windows 7) to Linux (not sync)

more options

I want to copy over my bookmarks from my "Play" Win7 PC to my new "Work" Ubuntu PC, but not keep them sync'ed, as the Work PC needs to be secure.

I could do it manually, but I was hoping there might be a faster method.

If it's just bookmarks , you don't need to move entire profile.

you can export bookmarks (all of them) to html file. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer

by default file will be named "bookmarks.html", but you can name otherwise when saving or rename after.

move this file to target computer and then import bookmarks from him.

You will notice that Firefox also has a Backup and Restore function in the Library dialog. The Backup format is a little more complete, for example, it has any tags you assign to your bookmarks. HOWEVER, the Restore would completely replace your work bookmarks with your play bookmarks, so in this case, export/import is preferred.
