Type about:config<enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the Be Careful button. At the top of the screen is a search bar. Type browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab

the-edmeister: THANK YOU! It drives me bonkers how such a frequently used setting requires advanced configuration. Firefox isn't doing any favors for its users with this.
