Hi,

not going to be easy to express this issue in english, but i'll give a try. I could not connect the dots so far why this is happening but until today my firefox did only start up in safe mode and now not even that way anymore.

1. i tried the help guide and disabled all the extensions and so on, but same issue. 2. i tried to uninstall firefox and even the profile folder 3. this is the latest crash report code bp-2a452bac-06c0-4bde-bc26-ba1742150429 4. i wanted to perform system restore, but the dates available are rather to old or only a few days old.

sure i could use other browsers and maybe even better ones, but i use firefox since the beginning and i like it ;) any support is much appresciated!

cheers

Chosen solution

Hello Sorayama, please try to update your Nvidia graphics drivers to latest and check if the issue persist, see : Using the latest generic graphics drivers

see also IF disabled hardware acceleration in firefox fix the issue (the "update to latest drivers" is probably the best option)

thank you

If you are not able to start Firefox normally to disable hardware acceleration, you can use Firefox's Safe Mode for that. To start Safe Mode:

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

To return to normal, simply exit out of Firefox and start it up again without holding down the Shift key.

To add another option to jscher2000 above sugestions to see the Options window with CLOSED firefox, so you be able to disabled hardware acceleration in firefox (even if you can not open it) you can copy the next command :

firefox -preferences

and paste it in your Run Command on your Windows 7. Then you be able to see the Options window > Advanced > General > in Browsing area > UNCHECK Use hardware acceleration where available > click OK. Now you are able to start firefox without hardware acceleration. :-)

thanks again
