That is correct you have to manually do that one extra step of tapping the Android icon to open Google Play or Google Android or whatever the default app is.

Hi there,
When you open a Google Play page, a small Android icon will appear in the address bar at the top of the screen. Tap the Android icon and the page will open in the Play Store app. :)
So it's not possible to go directly to the play store (or other app e.g. YouTube)? Thank you.
