How do I remove DuckDuckGo from the search options?
DuckDuckGo magically installed itself after a FireFox upgrade and there is know apparent way to delete it from the browser. I did not install this and now cannot seem to delete it. I have tried about:config and keyword.url, but this is no longer available either. Any help would greatly appreciated. Thank you.

hello booboo4961, DuckDuckGo is a reputable search engine and was added as one of the default choices in firefox 33.1 as it is more respectful of users' privacy than other industry competitors. https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2014/11/10/celebrating-10-years-of-firefox-2/
firefox 34 changed the search interface quite a bit & at the moment there is no obvious way to remove search engines. what you could do is to enter chrome://browser/content/search/engineManager.xul into the address bar and remove any search engines this way...
Hi Phillip,
Thank you for your reply and explanation. It was very helpful and informative.

Startpage does the same type of thing DDG does, however DDG I have found deliberately degrades sites; meaning that if THEY think the site is useless, and some are, then it will be deleted from searches. But, i have found that there are a lot of reputable sites that get removed fro DDG searches. Most likely with paid donations to do so.
Just an FYI on DDG
