I am being prompted to update Firefox, but upon consulting the details, I find that it may interfere with my Windows XP. How can I stop the prompts?

I am still using (and will not be updating) Windows XP. The details of a Firefox update indicate that the new version (which I don't need) may interfere with XP. I want to have Firefox cease and desist prompting me for an update. How can I do this? I just keep selecting "Ask me later". Is there a more permanent fix?

Firefox 32.0.3 works fine on WinXP and contains many important security patches - in fact the "nightly" Firefox 35 pre-release tester version works fine, too.
