Am I the only one having problems since the Tuesday update? I have win10 Pro and Thunderbird 91.2.0 64 bit. Initially, Thunderbird did not load completely, so I reset the computer. Then it did load, but very slowly and switching folders would take so long that not responding would pop up several times. after a while, things begin to work fine. But the next day I had to go through the same thing.

Can't access messages in subfolders

I have created a new folder into which I want to move a number of subfolders. I've clicked-n-dragged all the subfolders into this new folder. Now however, a fault has occurred somehow and I cannot access the messages in the relocated subfolders. The wee blue circle just keeps going round-n-round when I click on these folders. I've tried repairing a sample folder or two using the Properties tool - doesn't work. Is there any way I can get into these new subfolders to retrieve the messages?

I recently had to restore my computer (Win10Pro) which is fully updated, I have Thunderbird ver 78.14.0

after restoring my computer to a short time before, I opened thunderbird to find I don't have any contacts in my address book, realized when I tried to ad a new email address to it, and do not know how I can recover it, I have a lot of email addresses in my contacts I don't want to lose, everything else in the program seems to be fine though, can I get help to recover my contacts again?

The new release of Thunderbird strains and strains and strains when an email is selected which has large attached files. I cannot scroll the email, I cannot switch away from the email, until Thunderbird completes its processing, whatever it is doing. These emails were not a problem until I updated to version 91.

I just updated to Thunderbird 91.2.0 and now, every time Thunderbird starts, I get an error message "Either there is no mail client or the current client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client." (See attached) Huh? I have Outlook installed on the machine but have never used it. Also, after I click off on the error message (two times), all of my folders appear expanded. I did a System Restore to last week but then I couldn't open either Thunderbird or Firefox because the recent updates changed the profile structure, so had to use Opera to download both and then update. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance.

For some reason that I don't understand, I have two Drafts folders on my Macbook Air (running TB 91.1.2 with macOS Big Sur 11.6). One is immediately beneath the Inbox folder and second one seems to be connected to my gmail account.

I also use TB on a PC (also TB 91.1.2 with Windows 7 Pro). There, I only have one Drafts folder that seems linked to my gmail account, so that any drafts created on the PC show up in the second Drafts folder on the Macbook.

However, any Draft created on the Macbook shows up in the first drafts folder and that does not appear to be linked to my gmail account. So, any draft created on the Macbook is *not* accessible from my PC. I have tried to delete the first Drafts folder on the Macbook, but when I right click the folder, deleting it is not an option.

Any idea how to get rid of that first Drafts folder on the Macbook and have the drafts saved in the same folder that the PC is using?

Thunderbird upgraded automatically yesterday and consequently I can no longer send emails. Every time I try I get this message: 'Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.optusnet.com.au failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.'

I have no idea how to solve the problem so any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. My computer is running Windows 7 Home Premium and my virus protection software is McAfee. Thank you John Officer

In the last week when deleting messages, the undo delete message (ctrl + Z) would be greyed out when after I delete a message. Sometimes it would allow me to undo delete message and the message would return, but starting today, the undo delete message is not greyed out, and when I either click Edit>undo delete message or just "Ctrl + Z" nothing happens. So no longer missing/greyed out, but completely non-funtional.

up to date 91.2.0 running on windows 10 home

Any fixes otherwise please add this to errors that need fixing. Thanks, Justin.

Often, like many others in this forum, I receive message that TB is unable to save a message in the drafts folder while I am composing a message. I always click "Retry" because I want the draft saved on the server. I want it on the server to which may account is imapped, because I might resume composing the message on another computer or my phone. Retry usually works. The message gets saved. But when I successfully send the message, the draft message saved with Retry is not deleted. If I don't need to use retry and the draft is saved automatically without my intervention, the draft message is deleted.

Podcast downloads on Thunderbird 91.2.0 are unstable since this update. Podcasts downloaded via Firefox complete at a reduced download speed over WiFi. Identical podcasts downloaded via Thunderbird begin at a blistering 10X stable download speeds and are cut-off before the download can complete.

Is this a WIFI issue, a Windows issue or a bug with the Thunderbird updates (which are otherwise very nice). Thx,

I am unable to drag/drop attachments into either compose window or attachment pane in TB. A small black "do not enter" symbol shows up over all TB windows if I try to drag anything into them. (I would attach a screencap showing an attempted drag, but file size is too big) Drag/drop works fine in Firefox. This behavior also was happening in previous TB install. On my Windows10 Home edition, it works fine. I can attach with the dialog box, but I really miss drag/dropping!

Problem: Exists since switching from Elementary OS (EOS) 5.1 to EOS 6. I also run Thunderbird on Windows 10 without issues.

When selecting an Email, there is only a yellow frame around it, but the background does not get highlighted. Same for folders. This makes dragging & dropping as well as selecting multiple mails very tedious and difficult. Further, when writing Emails I can select chunks of text and copy/paste/delete, but those chunks are also not highlighted.

Attached Screenshots One shows selected (!) text when writing an Email. It is obvious that there is nothing visibly highlighted. The other two show an Email when hovering over it (it becomes highlighted in grey) and clicking on it (yellow frame around it).

What I tried I went through the preferences and searched for any coloring options, but could not find anything.

My guess is that the problem is somehow related to the system's color preferences (which you can select in EOS 6). Maybe those accent colors interfere in some way with Thunderbird?

Any help appreciated!

One can force the function by placing the cursor in the area, but one does not know where the cursor actually might be. In sum , it is a pain not to have the full function of the slider easily accessible.

Hi, One of our clients upgraded from v48 - v92 in Thunderbird due to certificate issues. One of the users is getting the attached image when trying to forward emails. It doesn't happen every time but is happening frequently, every 3-5 sends. When it fails it usually sends the second try. While it does send eventually it is a nuisance. During my testing we sent 3 with no issues then had 3 failures in a row.

Is this a bug and how do we fix?

Hello, I recently accepted the automated version upgrade to Thunderbird 91.2.0. I have used Thunderbird for a very long time. With one of my email accounts I attempted to send email today. Thunderbird gave me the error message "Send Message Error: Sending of the message failed. The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed....[Ok]". Selecting [Ok] segues to "Add Security Exception" with the checkbox selected for "Permanently store...". Please see the attached ThunderbirdAddSecurityExceptionFails.png. For years this used to work. It worked before the new version.

Oddly, I can receive email from the same server with no problem. Therefore I believe this a bug in the new version of Thunderbird.
