Either yesterday or today, I was prompted within Mozlla Thunderbird to enter my password before I could download e-mail sent to my main business e-mail address, [edited]@suddenlink.net. I did that, expecting to see my latest mail haul from that account downloaded to my inbox. I was therefore unpleasantly surprised to see that my e-mail login failed, with the message:

"Login to server imap.suddenlink.net with username [edited] failed."

Yet, I was able to log into my webmail account for [edited] online with that same login and password.

I then tried updating the password, thinking that the Optimum server was requiring that I do that as a security measure for the entire network. After restarting the system, I logged back into Thunderbird and tried to view my [edited]@suddenlink.net e-mail.

Even after doing all that, I failed to gain access to my latest e-mail deliveries to [edited]@suddenlink.net.

Can anyone help me to restore my access to my e-mail account [edited]@suddenlink.net in Mozilla Thunderbird? I can view or send the e-mail in my webmail account, or on my Smartphone. However, those methods are considerably less convenient than relying on mail delivery to or from Thunderbird.

This sort of setback has happened before. Whenever it happened it was difficult to solve. Attached is a screenshot of the Thunderbird response to my attempted server login.

An IRS form 4506-B PDF has to filled out and sent with adobe reader, if you use a browser it disables funtions in adobe acrobate reader that allow you to send the form. Thunderbird works find to send regular emails. It isnt working when I click on the "submit form" buttton at bottom of the 4506-B forms page. I ran Thunderbird in troubleshoot mode and turned off all AVG protection includeing VPN and it still wont work. I tried with my aol and gmail accounts.

I am trying to copy all messages from Yahoo email to Thunderbird and after I sync or Get Messages in Thunderbird and then delete an email in Yahoo email, the email will also be deleted in Thunderbird.

Could you show me how where Thunderbird will not delete messages after I have already synced or Get Messages in Thunderbird?

Using Thunderbird to check emails and the calendar for an Infomaniak account: The account was active and working properly. After switching this account to 2FA, Thunderbird consistently requested a username and password during synchronization. After some research, the solution is as follows: you need to create a new app password with Infomaniak, then ensure that Thunderbird saves the password and that the “Require device authentication...” option is disabled. Would it be possible to provide a complete step-by-step guide for next time? Thank you.

Just installed Thunderbird on Windows 11. Have two accounts: UN1@hotmail.co.jp and UN2@hotmail.co.jp. I created them in exactly the same way, but one of them works without problem, the other shows me "Command Error 12". After searching for a solution on the forum, I understand that none of the suggestions work. The error repeats. What can it be and is there a way to fix this error?

As long as I've used TB, which is many years now, I've had no complaints. I have absolutely no desire to change to a different program.

That being said, I'm at wits' end with the recent issue of Notification Sound Alerts (NSA) upon delivery of a new message. Simply stated, beginning about 6 or 8 months ago, the NSA seem to simply work whenever they want to. I can go a month or two at a time and receive the NSA, and then suddenly one day, NSA will stop functioning on its own. This "pause," we'll call it, will last 4 or 5 months, then then suddenly begin to work again.

I have attempted every imaginable fix as recommended in this forum. There's no need to list them all, because I've made every suggested adjustment that's been recommended. But there's no rhyme or reason to why the NSA will work as programed for a period, and then decide on its own to stop working.

I don't know if this is a glitch in TB that is simply beyond my feeble attempts to rectify, or if any other TB users are experiencing the same issue. I have even gone so far as to attempt to find an Add-On that will supplement the NSA. However, none that I have uncovered, particularly those suggested in this Forum, seem to be compatible with either the version of TB or Windows 10. I understand that Win 10 is not longer supported in the forum, but please! I do not want to migrate years of email files to another program. I want to use TB but simply need to be "Alerted" when new messages hit the Inbox.

Any assistance or suggestions (except those basic adjustments that proliferate the forum, i.e insure the sound mixer is not muted, etc, etc) would be greatly appreciated and thanks for listening.

I'm a retired Desktop Support tech more familiar with Outlook, still very new to Thunderbird. I enjoy supporting family & friends and often email urls for various reasons. What setting do I need to tweak in Thunderbird to get long urls that I paste into emails to send to wrap within the composed email?

When I attempt to access the Add-Ons service through Thunderbird, it brings me to an HTML page (https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/search/?q=lastpass&appver=147.0.1&platform=Linux) reading

It will attempt to connect to Cloudflare to verify a Captcha, but the Captcha itself never renders, and after a period adds the following to the text:

After another period it then cycles the verification page. This continues as long as the tab remains open.

Opening the link listed above in Firefox opens the Addons page as expected.

Similar Captcha pages open on launch, as well as when accessing support or attempting to create a Matrix chat account.

There is a potentially related issue in that images and some icons are not rendered. I will make a separate post asking for help with that if it is not related, but it seemed relevant to mention.

The problem has existed for a long time, and I have checked existing responses without finding a solution, but I didn't get around to asking about it until now.

I am using Thunderbird v. 147.0.1 (64-bit) for Linux with no extensions installed), connected via AT&T broadband service with no proxy set, running under Manjaro 26.0, kernel 6.18.8-1, with the XFCE desktop environment (that last is only mentioned for the sake of completeness). I am using GUFW for my firewall, but the problem persists when the firewall is disabled (something I do not wish to do regularly in any case).

I had a problem and deleted thunderbird. Now I have reinstalled and cant get to the allow button for account setup. It seems to be way down the page and I cant sroll down to get to it.

I recently installed Thunderbird on my Android pad where all my email contacts came in fine. However, I just went to my Windows 10 laptop where I've previously used Thunderbird and my contacts are missing. How do I get them back to my laptop?

I run TBD 140.8.0 esr (64 bit) under Debian 12 Linux. Until recently I could automatically enter a special address from the pertaining addressbook, this does not work anymore. helpfiles do not show a solution thus I am here.

The addressbook is full of addresses however I have to transfer a special address via past and copy into the addressfield of the mail I want to send.

Since April 9, 6:14 PM CDT, most folders (e.g., Drafts, Templates, Sent) on my primary laptop in my primary POP email account, [edited]@bdcusa.com, have disappeared; and ALL SUBfolders in my Inbox have disappeared. Over 185,000 emails have vanished overnight!

On my primary laptop, I'm using Thunderbird 149.0.1 (64-bit) on the release update channel, still running 64-bit Windows 10 Professional, and have nothing backed up to the cloud.

Fortunately, on my secondary laptop, I'm using Thunderbird 115.18.0 (32-bit) on the esr update channel, running 32-bit Windows 7 Professional. I say, "fortunately," because ALL folders and emails are still there, so I know they haven't been vaporized!

How do I return all folders and emails for this email account to visibility and access on my primary laptop? Detailed directions appreciated.

Nun ist mir aufgefallen das auf einmal 2 Spamordner pro Mailadresse angelegt sind aber nur ein Ordner benutzt wird. Wie kann ich die unbenutzten Spamordner löschen ??? Mailadressen als IMAP angelegt 2 Mailadressen unter Seuresmtp.t-online.de 1 Mailadresse unter Web.de Freemail-smtp.de mit Googleübersetzer

Hello, I'm using the latest version of Thunderbird on Windows 11 and manage three email addresses with it. I've noticed that two spam folders have suddenly been created for each email address, but only one folder is being used. How can I delete the unused spam folders?
