Been using Thunderbird for a number of years but recently the SSD on my laptop became corrupted and I had to buy a new one and install TB and restore my profiles from a backup.

I have two accounts and switch between them with Profile Manager.

The new laptop is an ASUS Vivobook with Win 11 Home and although TB runs ok the first time, if I close the current session and try to open the other account, nothing happens when I click on TB icon on the taskbar. IF I wait for around 5 minutes then it will run

Checked in Task Manager and cant see any instances of TB running, so any thoughts on what's wrong. Does not matter which order I open the accounts.

After returning from a 6 day vacation, my wife attempted to download email from her Yahoo email account. There are nearly 200 messages that have piled up but they aren't moving. I've uninstalled and re-installed TB. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app password in Yahoo. There is no problem with accessing the email via any web browser. I spent 49 minutes on a tech support call with Yahoo and they have said the problem is with TB because they repeated the same steps I have. I checked firewall settings and the only antivirus program on the computer is Malware Bytes and it's not running in the background. The version of TB is the most recent as of yesterday. I don't see any sketchy looking emails in the web version of Yahoo Mail when it's opened. It's set up as a POP3 account and has been since Cox Internet gave their email over to Yahoo. I'd appreciate any assistance in resolving this because it's currently above my pay grade and tech support at Yahoo.

Why is Thunderbird email for PC and Android suddenly loading and syncing so slow this week...very frustrating. I have a gmail email...gmail site is fine. I've compacted all folder, etc and IMAP server server setting for years.

I'm moving from one PC (Windows 10) to another (Windows 11) and copied the Thunderbird folder over to the new PC yesterday. All seemed to be working fine on the new PC.

However, I've noticed that new emails sent to my gmail account FROM a gmail address are not being downloaded (I can see them in Gmail on the web). Emails sent from other addresses are downloading fine.

I have checked on the 'old' PC (which has identical configuration and is running the same version of Thunderbird) and they ARE downloading.

They aren't in the SPAM folder, I use POP3 and both PCs are configured to leave emails on the server, to it isn't that they are being deleted after downloading onto the old PC.

It's maddening, as about half my emails aren't available in Thunderbird, which makes it useless and I HATE native Gmail!

This notice fairly regularly appears in the last couple of weeks - I do not trust the AI solution as everything APPEARS to work normally on Thunderbird - were it not for that notice I'd think all was normal! Is rectification of something needed? If so simple instructions needed and advice as to the cause - I'm no techie and wonder if I meddle I'll cause problems I currently don't seem to be experiencing.

Some time ago I went tinto exceptions and put in some unwanted email addys and they were blocked. I am getting unwanted emails tried the same thing, but they are still coming through. Here are some of the emails; contact@news.comoundeesgtream.com contact@news.musteraliteinfo.com

When I try and open any link on an email I get an error message: "This file does not have an app associated with it to perform this action. Please install an app or if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Settings page". This occurred from start up this morning.

Hi, We have suddenly stopped receiving emails from our booking provider, 'Inn Style' since the 13th August. All other emails appear to be being received. I have contacted our booking provider and it shows at their end that they are being delivered to us so have suggested it is a problem from the email provider. It is a big problem for us not receiving emails from our booking provider. Thank you for your help, Lucy

I was attempting to use Thunderbird Restore Tool to merge multiple Thunderbird profiles. Before I started, I copied the existing Thunderbird profile to a safe location where it has remained undisturbed. The Thunderbird Restore Tool did not produce the desired results, but that is a story for another day. I tried copying the saved profile back to C:\User\Tom Hayden\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles. I then started Thunderbird. It returned something very close to "Your profile file is inaccessible or corrupted". After some research, I edited the profiles.ini to point to the old profile file. Thunderbird would not start. I tried multiple iterations of thunderbird - p to run the profile manager. I was, eventually, able to get thunderbird to start and read the most recent e-mails from the server. However, it would not load any of the old e-mails from the old profile. I went to the profile thunderbird is currently using. Under ...\thunderbird\profile\pd785tbj.Default_User\Mail I found Local Folders-1 and pop3.airmail.net. Under pop3.airmail.net I can see the directory structure I used for my old e-mail. Everything appears to be present and in place. No matter what I do, Thunderbird will not read/load those e-mails. There is also an ImapMail directory with mail.airmail.net. Under it is a directory structure that appears to be what is actually showing up in Thunderbird. How do I restore/reload/recover/whatever the old e-mails in pop3.airmail.net? Please make your answer as explicit as possible.

My brokerage firm states that it cannot notify me via email for conformation transaction. How do I add this firm's domain to my address book so that its emails will be received my me?

I am encountering a message of "The installation seems to be incomplete. Please check your hardware and disk setup and/or re-install." when trying to run Thunderbird.

This first occurred on a system that had been working for a while. An update may have been installed.

Here's what I've tried. -

Uninstall Thunderbird (along with Firefox and Mozilla Maintenance.) Checked for Program Files/Mozilla folder (all were removed). Run SFC / Scannow Run CHKDSK Installed pending Windows update. Restarted the System Renamed (essentially removed) Profiles folder Turned antivirus software off Downloaded and installed the latest version of Firefox, then Thunderbird. Launched Thunderbird. Still received the same error..

Any ideas on how to resolve the issue?

I had a working thunderbird/gmail connection until my main drive went to SSD heaven. Yes, I have current backups but I took the opportunity to move to a Win 11 box so all my data is safe but might be in different places.

I can log into gmail but can not configure thunderbird to do that. The Account Hub does what it is supposed to and all is well up to Password question. The gmail password does not work and I can't remember ever giving thunderbird a password. My mozilla accounts all refer to a domain that I gave up 5 years ago,

Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

I have followed the instructions that several people give to transfer my existing Thunderbird installation to a new computer where I have just installed Thunderbird. That is I copied the Thunderbird folder and put it in the Roaming folded found in %appdata%. Both computers are on Windows 11. When I open the new Thunderbird, it does not recognise it. Furthermore, in Help>Troubleshooting information>Profile folder when I click to open the folder, it looks for a folder that is not in my previous Thunderbird installation: qr19mupe.default-release instead of the one that came with my imported Thunderbird folder. Has this happened to anybody and found the solution? Can anybody help please?

Thank you for the advice on copying the Thunderbird folder, which I have done. However, what is failing is the adding of further existing email accounts. I enter the Account name, the email address and the password but I still get Authentication error. I have, after some difficulty, succeeded in adding five accounts with three different hosts. The further accounts I wish to add use two of the hosts of the successful additions.

We are a team of around 15 users who have been using Mozilla Thunderbird with Google IMAP for the last few years. Until recently, Thunderbird has been working reliably without any major issues.

However, for approximately the last one week, we have been facing a serious performance issue with incoming emails. Around 12 out of 15 users are experiencing the same problem.

The main issues we are facing are:

Newly received emails take a very long time to download. After clicking on a newly received email, it takes a considerable amount of time to open and display the content. Emails appear to be downloading extremely slowly, even though our internet connection is a 100 Mbps ILL (Internet Leased Line). The issue is affecting multiple users simultaneously, so it does not appear to be limited to a particular user's Thunderbird profile or PC. We have already tried Repair Folder / Repair Inbox, but the issue persists. We are using Google's IMAP servers for our email accounts.

We are currently using Mozilla Thunderbird 153.0.3 (64-bit) – Meadow Badge.

Could this be a known issue or bug in the latest Thunderbird 153.0.3 update, particularly with Google IMAP?

We would appreciate any guidance from the Thunderbird community/support team on how to troubleshoot and resolve this issue. If there are any recommended settings, logs, diagnostics, or Thunderbird configuration changes that we should check, please let us know.

Since this issue is affecting 12 out of 15 users, it is becoming a significant operational problem for our team.

Any help or suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Hello Folks, We are a team of 15ppl using thunderbird from last few year and it work flolessly in these years but from last 1week i have been facing a serious issue of : INCOMING EMAILS TAKING A LOT OF TIME TO OPEN AND READ, fresh email when received and after clicking it takes a lot of time of open, having a 100mpbs ILL speed, out of 15 / 12 ppl are facing same issue, even after repairing the inbox the issue remains same, mails are getting downloaded very slowly...we are using google imap server for the same, need help to resolve the same...is it the bug in the latest update 153.0.3 (64-bit) Meadow badge
