Hello - new forum user with some previous familiarity with Thunderbird. I'm looking for advice on mail import from Outlook (M365) on Mac OS. I will only be using TBird for accessing historical mails in future rather than as the main mail app going forward.

I have installed Thunderbird and looked at the Import Tool but it doesn't list Outlook as an option. I've looked through the Import Tool support pages and I can see Outlook is an import option but it only seems to appear when I filter the web page based on Windows 11 rather than Mac OS.

Am I able to use the Import Tool on Mac OS with Outlook?

I'm using Mac OS Monterey 12.7.6 and have Thunderbird 153.0.1 and Outlook for Mac 16.89 (M365) installed.

If the Import Tool isn't available, is the next best option to drag individual folders from Outlook to the Mac desktop to create MBOX folders and then drag those into Thunderbird?

I'm trying to resolve password issues. I fear that I might lose access in T-bird as I have through my browser.

T-Bird presently works to receive e-mail at two addresses: [redacted]@pacbell.net and at [redacted]@pacbell.net. It won't let me send email from [redacted]@pacbell.net.

None of my "they did work in the past" passwords allow me to log in with yahoo or AT&T

I want to use the same p- words with t-bird and yahoo and AT&T

I have 5 emails setup on Thunderbird. I can receive emails for all 5 accounts. However, I can't send email on any of the accounts. I went through some of the old threads and tried to adjust the outgoing server, but I haven't been successful. Typically, I get a message like attached.

“A fake login page at auth.tb.pro appeared while adding an Outlook account in Thunderbird. It is NOT a Thunderbird or Microsoft domain. Do NOT enter your password.”

Is this a known scammer - have others been caught by it.

I hope I avoided trouble by not responding and following the instructions I was able to get from Microsoft CoPilot to locate and remove the the dangerous cookies from my PC.

My screenshot shows the cookies that were there.

Using the Import function in TBird doesn't work for me - I'm not clued up enough to edit the columns and I don't have all the same columns in my Outlook contacts. The import function says it's done and TBird shows 1972 entries, but nothing is visible. when I looked at the pdf version of the import, I could see the mess of the columns and gave up. PLEASE is there some simple way to do this. I'm trying to let go of Outlook because it doesn't download my gmail anymore. Thank you for any help.

I have an issue while detaching an attachement under a directory that has is name on a network share "G:\03_AFFAIRES Ad & FI\"

When i detache a file inside this directory the link in Thunderbird is broke because it become "G:\03_AFFAIRES Ad "

It was working in the previous version of thunderbird ESR 140.x

So thunderbird mail has this system where old emails spread horizontally across the top of the screen in small icons and if you select and open an older email from the sidebar for the inbox and then want to return to the inbox, the only way I have found to return to the inbox is to click and hold the left arrow on that horizontal bar at the top with the email icons. This is too time consuming. Is there a faster way? Also, is that bar necessary? Why not just have a system that uses the sidebar that actually identifies the individual emails.

After the last update of Thunderbird, we lost the ability to send gmail messages from our pop gmail account. We only got incoming messages when we restarted thunderbird. We've worked for 6 hours with Claude Opus and it finally gave up. Out AOL account and our comcast accounts still work. We tried to create a new imap account in gmail and that spins forever. Account does not get created. the last error message was " Error Creating Account - Incoming server already exists."

Then we tried deleting the pop account and then creating a imap account and that also spun forever failing to create an account. Webmail works.

Hi folks, I'm a happy Thunderbird user since more than 20 years.

I just updated my TB to Version V.153.0.1esr.

Then I want to compose an eMail and suddenly I recognized the two Menus with File, Edit, View and Send.... Attach are gone.

Normally from the top to the buttom I see the following menu lines: 1. Write: (no subject).... 2. File Edit View... 3. Send........ and Attach at the end 4. From.. 5. To... 6. Subject 7. The line with Paragraph etc. 8. The area to put my email text in

The lines 2. and 3. are fully gone.

Can you please give an answer how to reactive the lines 2. und 3. during composing an eMail?

Only a recent problem. I can receive emails just fine; only the sending of emails is affected. On the same computer, I open the Gmail website in my browser, and I am able to send emails just fine.

I checked my security program, Bitdefender, and there are no notifications relating to this issue.

Any help on what to check next?

I have used Thunderbird with the same email account for years, creating subfolders and moving emails to the subfolders with no issues.

With Thunderbird 153.0.1, after creating a new subfolder in the account, when attempting to move emails to the new folder, I receive the following error:

"Thunderbird: The current command did not succeed. The email server responded: APPEND invalid flag list"

A few days ago the "Junk" folders in my Thunderbird accounts, without any action on my part, were suddenly renamed as "Spam" folders.

Anyone know why this happened?

After updating Thunderbird to version 153.0.1 ESR (64-bit), the InsertSignature button changed its position.

Before the update, the "Insert Signature" button was displayed near the message formatting toolbar, next to the "Body Text" selector.

After the update, the button moved to the top compose toolbar next to the Send button.

My environment:

- Thunderbird 153.0.1 ESR (64-bit) - Windows 11 - InsertSignature 0.4.5 - Quicktext 6.9.1

InsertSignature has not been updated recently (version 0.4.5), and this change appeared only after Thunderbird was updated.

The button used to be located immediately next to the "Body Text" selector in the formatting toolbar. Last Friday everything worked normally. Today (Monday) the button position changed.

Is this an intended UI change in Thunderbird 153, or is it a compatibility issue or bug?

If possible, is there any way to restore the button to its previous location near the formatting toolbar?

A message failed to send due to some issue with the mail server, and Thunderbird said I could choose to Send Later, which I chose to do. But that message disappeared (to me) - wasn't in Drafts, where did it go? Thanks,

I'm having issues adding this email to Thunderbird. I did the steps below, but I am unable to add this email:

1. I enter my name and email (see image 1), then click Continue. 2. Outlook tab opens in my browser (see image 2). I enter my password and click Next. 3. Tab changes to Thunderbird - You're all Set (see image 3). 4. I go back to Thunderbird, and I see this (see image 4), then I click the Continue button. 5. After I click the Continue button, I see an error message (see image 5). 6. The email I tried to add isn't added, but the password is added to Thunderbird (see image 6).

When I go to https://outlook.live.com/mail/ in the browser I am logged in and can see my emails etc. So, the email address and password I entered is definitely correct. Also, Outlook has given Thunderbird access to the email account (see image 7).

Please advise what the issue is and how to fix it, so I can add the email to Thunderbird.
