I've always used firefox

Recently it seems to me that a lot of sites don't seem to recognise me, so I have to do multi step logins.

Paypal for instance. I don't save the password, I type it in each time, but now it insists on sending me an SMS in addition

My guess is that FF is deleting some cookies that I'd rather it didn't. What can I do?

Youtube webpages won't load properly after saving. They start to load but then switch to a white page. I need to be able to save a video's webpage to save links and other information for later viewing. This started happening on any computer 2 or 3 months ago. I'm thinking that youtube did something that causes the saving of their webpages to be messed up. Youtube webpages display fine on youtube.com but saving their webpages doesn't work anymore.

A user I am servicing uses Firefox every day. They are on Windows 11. Every afternoon (sometimes at other times), Firefox stops working and loses its internet connection (everything else on their computer continues to be connected).  When they close and restart Firefox to reconnect, it then tells me the user that they are using an old profile and need to create a new one.  They're able to re-log into their Firefox account, which eventually resyncs all their data, but they then have to re-sign into everything, which is a major inconvenience.  The only workaround the I have found is to reinstall Firefox, ever time this happens which then allows the user to use all their settings until they have to repeat the process the next day (i.e., everything remains signed in and/or logging back in is easier than described above).

I have been a user of Firefox for many, many years (it is my default browser) and as of today I am extremely upset with you. Once again I go to use my favorite browser and all my bookmarks have been removed. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME SINCE THE NEW YEAR 2026.

I spent a great deal of time putting the bookmarks together that hold all the links to clients and their respective sites, along with all the places I have applied to and was about to apply, and today, again, they have all disappeared.

So, give me a reason to keep using your browser? As of this point, I am going to move to another browser and begin setting up all the bookmarks that I remember ... thanks for what seems to have become a HUGE problem with Firefox and blowing away my bookmarks and making me reset everything.

I have used Firefox when everyone told me to move to another because I believed you were the best at protecting my browsing experience and you didn't disappoint. But these last two times you have removed so much of my time I am at a loss as to why I even bother with you now ... besides, you have removed my Dad's obituary link and I'm not sure I will ever trust you again.

All of my bookmarks; hundreds of them, disappeared from the folders that appear along the top of the task bar and the folders are now empty. I cannot locate a backup file which is supposedly saved automatically and the appearance of a folder on my desktop titled "old Firefox data" doesn't help resolve the situation. I need help recovering these book marks if possible.

In the last week or so I have noticed that when I go online to to purchase something or just browse for items, my location has altered from UK to Ireland. I wondered if anyone has had the same experience and maybe has an answer to help me.

I want to transfer my profile from an old laptop to a new one. i am not comfortable with uploading my passwords to the cloud as i do not understand how this is safe. i made tar.gz file with the entire profile, almost 1gb and put that on the new laptop. edited the profiles.ini and install.ini and expected the profile will load, but firefox simply does not work in that profile. it cannot browse and clicking the menu button in top right does nothing. Please, help. If I share data below that is the working profile, not the one that fails.

opened firefox saturday and screen was totally different than what i had. guess it updated, but not returned to my profile. have tried to open my profile and succeeded, but can't get it to come on automatically when i open firefox again. how do i open the profile i want and then keep it opened?

I cannot log into Facebook with my Firefox browser. Even though the username and password are entered correctly, the login freezes and I cannot proceed. I am able to access the site on other devices. On my laptop, I deleted all cookies, history, and cache as recommended. I am able to log in to Instagram on this device. Coincidental to this problem: when I try to view video on newyorktimes.com, the browser freezes. I cannot view content in other open tabs and must reboot the browser.

I am currently experiencing a very frustrating issue with Firefox. I have been using it for many years, and it has always been my preferred and most comfortable browser for my daily work. I depend on it heavily, as all my bookmarks and other important information are stored there.

Over the past few weeks, Firefox has been crashing more than ten times a day. I have already tried all the troubleshooting steps suggested in forums and through AI-based support, but none of them have resolved the problem. I also attempted to install and use the Firefox Beta version, but the issue still continues.

In our environment, other users and devices are not encountering this problem, so it does not appear to be related to internal firewall or antivirus restrictions.

Could you please assist me in troubleshooting this issue? I have attached the error screen that appears after the crash along with the crash report for your reference.

When I'm on a site that I've accessed on my main machine or phone (Apple), but try to use my Apple ID when logging on via the Firefox browser on my Linux machine, I get a popup asking for a fingerprint. None of my devices use a fingerprint. I get it needs confirmation, but very rarely you get the dotty circle to use with your phone camera, but not all the time. How can I make my life easier and get the dotty circle all the time, or force things to go to my phone for confirmation that it's me - face ID or something.

I've looked on my Apple stuff and can't find anything that will help, so I'm reaching out!

I've been trying to decipher browser.tabs.insertXXX with little success. What I want to achieve is to open tabs from the same site next to the current tab with the most recently opened tab next to the original tab.

Example Two tabs are open, site 1 tab 1 and site 2 tab 1. Open a new link to site 1 on site 1 tab 1. The order is site 1 tab 1, site 1 tab 2, site 2 tab1. Open another link to site 1 on site 1 tab 1. The order is now site 1 tab 1, site 1 tab 3, site 1 tab 2, site 2 tab 1.

just downloaded the latest Policy Templates in Version 7.7 and installed them in our Central Policy Store. I went through all the settings but cannot find a configuration allowing us to block downloads of eg. executable files .

Even safebrowsing is not included to configure.

Any ideas?

A pop-up suggested that I use profiles to organize and it sounded like a great idea but then after making profile I was having trouble getting tabs from one page to another. Then I discovered that I had to log in my accounts onto every profile I made and it sounded like a terrible idea, so I tried deleting all my profiles to get it to revert but now that I open the browser it shows me to make a new Profile. So, I want to know how can I revert back to using Firefox Without the use of profiles like I was before clicking the pop-up

There seems to be no possible way to change the shortcut for peeking at the tabs in the sidebar (when sidebar revamp is enabled) from the about:keyboard UI. I have so far managed to modify the shortcut through intercepting function calls.

What I have done: 1. Read through the JS source code for about:keyboard which says the shortcut ID is `toggleSidebarKb` 2. Added hooks to intercept `RPMSendQuery` calls 3. Modified the shortcut through devtools open on the about:keyboard page with the following snippet

The way I am doing it is definitely a hack. I am not sure if I am missing something. Although the shortcuts for bookmarks, history, and GenAI chat sidebar are present, there seems to be no entry to change the sidebar toggle shortcut itself. I'd love to work on this but I haven't been able to mach bootstrap on NixOS.
