When I have installed all versions of FF after 3.6 the toolbar is a mess, words are so widely spaced that it make my buttons about 3 inches wide. How can I correct it so I can use a later version of FF?

For instance, my toolbar for my buttons looked like this:

Hubby's bookmarks

making each button very WIDE.

And my bookmark lists looked sort of like this:

Fox News
The Right Scoop

Can you attach a screenshot?
You can't do that to the first post, but you can to follow up replies.

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

My sample above did not appear as I typed it. My bookmarks look like this without the dots: Fox..............................................................News........................................... The...............................................................Right.........................................Scoop

I can't get a screen shot without installing a later version of FF again and I just don't have time for this right now. I have completely removed FF, rebooted and reinstalled FF's latest version several times in the past year but still had the problem even before importing bookmarks; everything was spread out like that. Maybe when I have some free time I will mess with this some more (frankly, reading your response doesn't give me much hope of fixing this) but for now I decided that Opera looks pretty good. It imported all my bookmarks and it's fast.
